“Your dreams are the blueprint to reality.”

Jazz Student Culture

This project invites students and professional musicians to acknowledge the importance of our physical and mental well-being and also define what music education, art and business require via performance, academia and music production.

Professional artists, instrumentalists, managers, booking agents, educators, physiotherapy and nutrition specialists from all over the world, have been sharing their observations and experience. They are providing crucial guidance and presenting students with options how to get the best out of their music programs and how to start working as professionals. Most importantly, they are sharing extremely valuable information about how to prevent and treat physical injuries caused by playing and performing, how to deal with stressful situations (competition, own expectations, fear of missing out, performance anxiety), what instructional material and what instructors and mentors helped them develop their potential and what other aspects and concepts are involved in their creative composing, recording and mastering process.

These artists are kindly letting you into their minds and are generously sharing their advice addressed to young jazz students and artists at the end of each interview.

First, I must thank all my guests, mentors and all musicians I have been so fortunate to work with. You have been an inspiration to many of us, I wish you good luck in everything you do. Second, I must thank all our students, who both as semi-professionals and professionals, will keep on challenging music education system and music business through their creativity, critical thinking, dedicated work, sense of equality, friendship and positive professional attitude. May you achieve everything you have been working towards!

We all should be mindful and protect our physical and mental health – We cannot fully satisfy all of our ambitions all at once, but we can enjoy our ongoing studying process, establish and maintain career we desire, work with artists we look up to, set new adventures to look forward to and enjoy being in each other’s company.

All the best,
Peter Moc
